Who We Are

Lab Fajiao is a boutique PR and communication agency specializing in architecture, interiors, product, landscape design and art.

Fajiao means fermentation in Chinese. At Lab Fajiao, we see brand building as a process of fermentation — one that does not happen overnight, but develops gradually through thoughtful strategy, meaningful interactions, and the right cultural context.

The Lab represents experimentation. We believe every brand deserves a tailored approach rather than a formulaic solution. Through continuous exploration and experimentation, we seek to discover the strategies, narratives, and connections that allow each brand to grow and resonate.

Our Team

Jessie Sheng
Founder

With over a decade of experience in strategic communications for the design industry, Jessie has built her expertise at the intersection of architecture, interior design, art, lifestyle and culture.

Prior to founding Lab Fajiao, Jessie led communications for internationally recognized design practices including MVRDV and Perkins&Will in China, where she developed a deep understanding of how creative ideas are shaped, communicated, and connected with broader audiences.

Her previous work includes communication campaigns for landmark cultural, architectural, and educational projects, including Shanghai Library East, Beijing Sub-Center Performing Arts Centre, Shanghai West Bund Grand Theatre, Duke Kunshan University, and Westlake University.

Drawing on strong media relationships and an extensive network across designers, editors, and creative communities, Jessie connects international brands, designers, and artists with China’s evolving design and cultural landscape. Beyond generating media exposure, she helps creative practices articulate their vision, foster meaningful dialogues, and establish long-term recognition within China.
